Increase in the Value of Egypt’s Central Bank Gold Reserves

The total value of gold reserves held by Egypt’s Central Bank surged by approximately 107.7% in 2024, increasing by 280.208 billion Egyptian pounds to reach 540.4 billion pounds by the end of December 2024, compared to 260.2 billion pounds by the end of December 2023.

The Central Bank’s gold reserves increased by around 23.2 billion pounds during the last quarter of 2024, reaching 540.4 billion pounds by the end of December, up from 517.1 billion pounds by the end of September 2024.

Additionally, the Central Bank of Egypt reported a rise in its net profits to 118.7 billion pounds by the end of December 2024, compared to 98.01 billion pounds by the end of 2023, marking an increase of 20.6 billion pounds.
